Information For Libraries
In most cases, invoices for Legacy-funded programs and projects should be sent via email directly from the performer to SELCO. If your library needs reimbursement for pre-approved dollars spent on a Legacy program, please fill out the reimbursement request form and email it with all supporting expense documentation (invoices, receipts etc.) to SELCO's Legacy Program Librarian. Payment will be issued within two weeks of submitting your request.
Information For Performers, Presenters, and Vendors
Please send your invoice and W9 to SELCO's Legacy Program Librarian AFTER your program/project has been completed. Allow two weeks for payments to be processed.
The Legacy Committee is a Committee of the SELCO Board of Directors. The Committee supports the Legacy Program Librarian by acting in an advisory capacity and voting on decisions that impact the use of Legacy funding. These may include implementing new grant opportunities, approving grant applications, suggesting new programs for Legacy funding, discontinuing current programs, and identifying areas for improvement.
The SELCO Logo and Legacy Amendment Logo are required on all promotional materials and permanent installations relating to Legacy funding.
SELCO will always provide promotional materials that meet these requirements. If you choose to forego use of the SELCO-provided materials your own publicity must meet the logo requirements.
Failure to comply with Minnesota state requirements pertaining to Legacy Logos may result in loss of funding for current Legacy grants, reimbursement of grant dollars already spent, or loss of future Legacy funding. Violations will be dealt with on an individual basis. Any penalties will be determined by the Legacy Review Committee, a Committee of the Board. For more information and additional file formats, please contact SELCO's Legacy Program Librarian.

Collecting survey responses is a required part of all Legacy-funded programs. Surveys can be administered in three ways depending on what best suits the needs of your audience:
Print: click the button above to download a printable version of the surveys.
Verbal: for larger audiences or groups made up mostly of children it may be easier to conduct the survey by asking the questions aloud and having audience members raise their hands or call out in response. This can be used as the sole means of collecting results or can be done in combination with print copies. A sample adaptation of the questions for large and/or young audiences can be found above. You can adapt these questions further, if needed. If you administer the survey verbally, please indicate this on your final report form in the final comment section.
Online: for virtual programs or accessibility purposes you may want to use an electronic survey. Please reach out to the Legacy Program Librarian at least two weeks in advance of your program to request a google form version of the print survey. If you would like a QR code linking to the online survey please include this in your request.
Survey results will be used by library staff to complete the final report form and ensure SELCO continues to sponsor the highest quality arts and cultural heritage programs and projects. Individual survey responses do not need to be submitted to SELCO's Legacy Program Librarian as a part of the final report process.
A portable projector is available for use at Legacy-funded events. To request use of the projector, please fill out the booking request form above. You will receive a confirmation email within one week of submitting your request. The projector is available on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions please contact SELCO's Legacy Program Librarian.
Library staff are STRONGLY encouraged (and in some cases required) to write thank you letters to the Governor and their local MN Representative and Senator following Legacy-sponsored programs. This expression of gratitude helps ensure that there will be continued legislative support at the state level for Legacy funding for libraries. Legislators will often cite thank you letters when offering their support in discussions and decisions surrounding Legacy funding.
To find out if you are required to submit letters to your legislators following a Legacy-sponsored program, please visit the "Final Report" page for that program.
While we understand that you might not have time to craft an original letter following each event, the more thought and personalization that is put into these letters, the better. Starting with a form is always okay, but please take the time to make it your own - anecdotes and stories of how Legacy money has touched individual people is a great way to start. In addition, please encourage audience members who had a strong connection with a Legacy-sponsored program to reach out to their legislators and share their positive experience with Legacy.
