Timeline:
October 15, 2023: Library application reopens, libraries receive $4,000 in funding for FY24. Programs can be held between November 1, 2023 and October 31, 2024.
May 31, 2024: last day for libraries to apply to host a vetted program using the $4,000 granted in FY24
October 15, 2024: SELCO libraries receive $3,500 in vetted program funds for FY25 and the application reopens. Programs can be held between November 1st, 2024 and October 31st, 2025.
October 31, 2024: last day to host a vetted program using FY24 funds. All final reports and required materials are due to the Legacy Program Librarian.
SELCO Vetted Programs were created at the request of public library directors. A Vetted Catalog Selection Team meets to recommend presenters and programs to include in the catalog. SELCO then contracts with a variety of presenters and programs to provide their services to regional libraries. Only SELCO members are able to apply for any Legacy funding. This is to stay in compliance with Minnesota State Statutes pertaining to ACHF dollars.
Each SELCO member library has $4,000 in vetted funds available for the FY24 season. Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2023, and programs must be held by October 31, 2023.
These programs are funded by SELCO through a grant from the Legacy Amendment Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF). The programming supported by this grant is intended to support arts, arts education and arts access, and to preserve Minnesota’s history and cultural heritage, and as such, programs with a scientific or STEM focus are included only if they have a significant aspect that includes storytelling, Minnesota culture or history.
Publicity is required for all Legacy funded programs. Libraries are strongly encouraged to use the SELCO provided posters for all Vetted Programs. If the Library chooses to create its own posters and forgo the provided SELCO publicity, the Library must have the poster pre-approved by SELCO.
